About IEI Delhi State Centre
The Institution of Engineers (India) Delhi State Centre was established in 1927 . The Institution of Engineers (India) had the privilege of having many engineering personalities of high eminence as its President from Delhi - like Dr A N Khosla, Dr K L Rao, Major Gen. Harkirat Singh, Dr T Sen,Maj Gen S P Vohra and Shri O P Goel.
The Centre had the unique privilege of having Shri Fakhrudin Ali Ahmed, President of India, Shri Mararji Desai, Prime Minister of India, Shri S S Barnala, Minister for Food & Agriculture as Chief Guests, Late Shri P M Sayeed, Minister for Power, Shri B L Joshi, Lt. Governor of Delhi at the Annual General Functions.
The total corporate membership of the Delhi State Centre is now having over 9252 representatives from 15 Engineering disciplines and about 22000 non-corporate members consisting of Technicians,Sr Technicians and Graduates.
The Centre celebrated its Platinum Jubilee Celebration in the year 2002.
The Delhi State Centre Plays a vital role in the planning, co-ordination and execution of national and international policies and actions of IEI.
The Delhi State Centre has played a crucial role in uniting various professional societies right from its inception. Delhi State Centre had organized various successful activities which include International and National conferences, All India Seminars, Round Table Conferences and Workshops relating to different strategy of Engineering and having crucial impact on society.
The Delhi State Centre has the priviledge of being Ist Centre of the Institution of Engineers(I) to launch its own website on November 13, 2000 and to get the Certfication of ISO 9000:2001 in the year 2002.
